Aliens in the Attic

Aliens in the Attic is a lighthearted, funny movie, probably best suited for 7 -13 age group. I took a 5 year old who loved it and found it hysterical, but he also enjoys all the Harry Potter movies.

It’s a live action movie where 2 families hire a house for the holidays only to have Aliens take out the satellite when they land on the roof and take over the attic. The children are the only ones who can stop the Aliens because their minds are too young for the aliens to control.

Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay from High School Musical) and her boyfriend take the brunt of the jokes and provide a lot of the laughs. The aliens are cute, but can be a bit scary for younger children. This movie proves kids can be trusted and are capable of big things, while the adults stay blissfully unaware the world is being invaded by aliens.

Although the movie was good, younger children seemed to be a bit bored. Aliens in the Attic was a hit in our house, but less to keep adults amused than other children’s movies out there. This movie stays true to the preview shown in cinemas and ads on tv, so if your kids enjoy them, go and see it. Be aware there are some loud parts and small scares where an alien pops out. Older primary school children will love it.
