Ramalama was founded after the birth of Deena’s first niece when she went in search of a baby carrier that allowed her  to bond without restricting freedom and movement.  Deena wanted a carrier that was easy to use, modern and practical without sacrificing her  sense of style or comfort. Shortly thereafter the first Ramalama carrier was in use and the company was born. 

The Ramalama range has since grown to include luxury leather bags, and more recently a range of organic and eco friendly baby basics and maternity wear. Throughout the design process Ramalama always refers to their philosophy of ‘Functional Luxury’, to design for the modern family with style, practicality and exceptional quality. 

Now, more than ever, Ramalama believe’s that the philosophy of ‘Functional Luxury’ includes incorporating sustainable practices into their operation. Ramalama’s sustainability policy ranges from the everyday processes of how their office operates using energy efficient lighting, passive cooling, and recycling (to name a few strategies), to their choice of fabrics, suppliers, manufacturers, packaging and transportation. 

Ramalama does their best to minimise their impact on the earth and to give back to the community and, while there’s still some work to do, Ramalama is  proud of the steps they are making.
