Kids in Australia has been very fortunate to review ROCKABYE BABY! Lullaby renditions of the Eagles, This music will now play a very important role in my home, having two extremely active children under 3, who have both fought day-time naps once they turned 1.
Over the last week I have been putting my 2 toddlers on the lounge, with a book, and playing the CD, and to my absolute amazement within 10 minutes both have dozed off into never-never land. This has been an absolute godsend as they are usually cranky, crying and just down-right irritable by the time dinner comes around. Thanks to ROCKABYE BABY! we now have a pleasant bed, bath and dinner time.

Every parent knows the desperation of trying to get an unsettled baby to sleep, and research suggests lullabies can help. McMaster University Associate Professor of Psychology Laurel Trainor's research on lullabies shows that parents can sing almost any song – “a folk song, a pop song, an aria from a musical” - and turn it into a lullaby.
“Lullabies tend to be simple in structure, have a restricted pitch range and a lot of repetition. But much of what makes a lullaby isn't simply the pitch structure, but the style in which it is sung. Babies react to lullabies by focusing their attention inward, which often calms them,” Professor Trainor said.
